Get ready for cupcakes, crafts, and community fun, the Tulsa County Free Fair is back this July with activities for the whole family.

Not to Be Confused With the Tulsa State Fair

First, a quick clarification, this is not the same as the Tulsa State Fair in September.

“What 4-H’ers need to do is they have to enter their entries [into the Free Fair], and then the first place winners get to go on to the Tulsa State Fair and compete at a state level,” Jones explained.

This local fair acts as a qualifying step for many young participants aiming to showcase their talents statewide.

What to Expect This Year

The 2025 edition of the Free Fair will feature a wide variety of entries and events, including:

  1. A rabbit show on Thursday
  2. STEM demonstrations for kids
  3. Edible fun like “dirt cup babies”
  4. Handcrafted items in categories like sewing, canning, and horticulture

“We have vendors that come out. They make homemade crafts, and they kind of showcase them to the public, but also they're for sale as well,” Jones said.

Who Can Enter & How to Participate

Entries are open to everyone, not just 4-H members.

“If you're a canner like I am, you can enter your canned goods or your baked goods. If you know how to sew or quilt, there are also those.”

Each person can enter one item per category. Entry day is scheduled for:

📅 Tuesday, July 15

🕓 From 4 to 7 p.m.

Categories include:

  1. Horticulture (flowers, produce)
  2. Canning and baking
  3. Sewing, quilting, and needlework
  4. 4-H youth entries
  5. Open class entries (open to all)

Public Event Dates and Highlights

The fair is open to the public:

📍 Tulsa County OSU Extension Office at Expo Square
