The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has lifted the boil order in Hominy on Friday, June 13.
In late April/early May, major damage to a line cutoff water in the city, and a state of emergency was declared.
The line was repaired soon after, but the boil order was still active. Then, a poeer outage partially shutdown the water plant, causing a precautionary boil order to be issued. On May 23, it was upgraded to a mandatory boil order by the DEQ due to "turbidity."
The City worked with the DEQ to improve water quality, increase operator safety and restore capacity and on Friday, the boil order was finally lifted.
