Early morning rain caused flash flooding along Hogshooter Creek in Washington County. First responders were called out for several water rescues, including a car that was swept off West 2300 Road near Oglesby, according to Sheriff Scott Owen.

Oglesby Fire Chief Jerry Wade said his department had made three rescues by midday, as water moved south through the county towards the Caney River.

Rescue boats from Washington County Emergency Management were used to evacuate Sandy Wood and her dog Elsa from a home surrounded by water, with fast-moving water across roads leading to it.

"It's running so much and so deep, I was worried if more came tonight it would be bad by the morning. This is not going down," she said.
