A Tulsa judge ordered a Green Country businessman to pay tens of thousands of dollars to two out-of-state customers for work that they say was never done.
A Maryland man and an Arkansas man say they paid Allen Jamison and his business, Luxury Exotics Customs and Replicas LLC, but they say the work was never done.
Jermaine Jones is from Maryland and says he hired Jamison and the business to build him a replica Lamborghini. But he says that after he paid nearly $20,000, he saw several red flags. He then sued, saying he had paid but never received a car.
"This entire process has just been so heavy," said Jones.
Jones says he's now been fighting a four-year legal battle after he paid Jamison and Luxury Exotic Customs and Replicas in Tulsa to build him a custom replica Lamborghini in 2021. Jones says he did his research and says that at first the business seemed legit.
"I was trying to find someone who I felt was super passionate about classic cars and exotic cars because I felt like if they had a passion for it, there really wasn't too much room to scam folks," said Jones. "The other thing, I'll be honest, I'm really big on supporting any minority business, and that's pretty much what led me to that particular business."
Jones says he sent three separate payments totaling $19,500 and got certified receipts each time. He says he asked Jamison for pictures of the build repeatedly, but says Jamison always had an excuse for why he couldn't send pictures or video of the car. Jones says the picture he did get was from a car built 10 years ago.
"When I said 'Hey, I'm terminating this, giving me my money back, nothing has been done,' he would create these fictitious charges and this inflated bill," said Jones.
Tom Askew is Jones' attorney, and also the attorney for an Arkansas man who hired the same business to repair his $50,000 replica car. He says he hired Jamison for an $800 repair, but says Jamison took the car to work on it, then demanded the victim pay several thousand dollars to get the car back.
The victim said he finally got his car back, but it was destroyed, missing parts, and had paint thinner in the motor.
"Like everyone, you start distrusting everyone you do business with. The honest business people are affected by those like this. They scam people or do things wrongfully," said Askew.
Jamison didn't show up for the court hearing Thursday morning, so News On 6 went to his business to get his side of the story, but he wasn't there. We then called his business, left a message for him, and he called back.
On the phone call, he denies any wrongdoing and says he was never made aware of the court proceedings.
"As a courtesy, I am talking to you. I don't have to. Asner the question, do you want to touch the car we built for him? Yes or no. Because we built him a car. The car we built for him, we still have. He didn't pay for him," said Jamison on the phone. "We built a car that wasn't paid for, number one. We built a car, we hired an attorney, a Tulsa attorney, that did not communicate or represent us in a professional manner, and we had to fire him."
Jamison says he's sorry for any complications, but says he will not allow customers to break the rules of their contract.
He says he has 26 current clients and counting and says he doesn't send pictures or videos of their cars because it's copyrighted material, so they tell customers to come to the shop in Tulsa to see their cars in person.
Jamison told us several times on the phone that he has picture and video proof of both cars built and in great condition, but when News On 6 asked him to send them, he refused.
Jones and his attorney say they've had conversations with the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office about this case.
