A 6-year-old Oklahoma boy is capturing hearts with his determination and love for the game, proving that not even a wheelchair can keep him out of the action.

Baker Teter, a kindergartener from Jennings, recently hit his first home run while playing for the Yale Avengers youth baseball team from his wheelchair.

After making contact at the plate, Baker’s friend and opposing player, Reid Wantland, jumped in to help, pushing Baker around the bases as teammates and spectators cheered them on.

Baker was born with a unilateral clubfoot and has undergone several surgeries. His most recent procedure left him in a full-leg cast, requiring the use of a wheelchair. Still, he’s been a steady presence at nearly every game this season, showing his commitment to his team and love for sports.

He’s expected to transition to a walking cast soon and faces a long road of physical therapy, but Baker is already looking ahead to football season.

Both Baker and Reid just finished kindergarten in Jennings. Their story is inspiring many for the sportsmanship, friendship and resilience they’ve shown on and off the field.
