Victims of wildfires that began March 14 in northeastern Oklahoma now have a place to turn for federal recovery assistance.
FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration have opened a temporary disaster recovery center in Mannford to help residents and business owners affected by the fires in Creek, Pawnee and Payne counties.
The center is located at First Baptist Church and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
More than 500 homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed during the recent wildfire outbreak, prompting federal officials to approve disaster assistance for impacted communities.
At the Mannford center, FEMA representatives can assist individuals in applying for funds to cover temporary housing, home repairs and other essential needs. SBA representatives are also on site to help with applications for low-interest loans for small businesses and homeowners.
FEMA assistance is available to residents and business owners in Creek, Pawnee and Payne counties who sustained losses from the fires.
