Severe storms that swept across Oklahoma overnight left a trail of damage in Skiatook, where high winds ripped the roof off the City of Skiatook Municipal Building early Saturday morning.
By daylight, piles of twisted metal, shattered wood, and broken trusses covered the streets outside City Hall, as cleanup crews worked quickly to remove debris and begin repairs. Heavy equipment and construction teams were on-site by mid-morning, securing the building and replacing sections of the damaged roof.
Images from the scene show metal roofing panels and wooden framing strewn across the road, with some debris reaching as far as the entrance to nearby businesses. Power lines in the area remained intact, but city officials say caution is advised around the site until the area is fully cleared.
