A state-issued mandatory boil order for water customers in Hominy continues, a week after a power failure at the treatment plant let water flow out without proper disinfection.

A team of small-town water plant staff members was on site Friday, trying to help get the chemical levels in balance, and Hominy's City Manager was hopeful a water test planned for Tuesday would show better results. The testing is conducted by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.

Residents have been told they should boil water used for any purposes other than flushing toilets.
