Motorcyclists will put on their sharpest suits and start their engines on Sunday, May 18, as the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride returns to Tulsa.
This global motorcycle event mixes style with purpose, uniting riders to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer. The effort is part of a worldwide movement that began over a decade ago.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2012. Its goal: bring attention to men’s health issues by encouraging participants to wear dapper attire while riding classic and vintage-style motorcycles.
The idea caught on quickly. Today, the event takes place in more than 1,000 cities across the globe each year.
Since its inception, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has raised over $50 million worldwide. The event partners with Movember, the leading men’s health charity, to fund high-impact programs focused on:
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men globally, with more than 10 million men living with or beyond the disease. At the same time, nearly one man dies every minute from suicide worldwide—many of them triggered by untreated depression.
The Tulsa ride will take place on Sunday, May 18. To participate, all riders must register on the official Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride website at www.gentlemansride.com.
Local ride details are kept private for safety reasons and are only shared with registered participants. Organizers stress the importance of following all safety protocols and encourage riders to prepare their motorcycles and wardrobes in advance.
