The Humane Society of Tulsa is sounding the alarm: its pet food pantry is empty, and it needs the community’s help to restock.
The pantry is part of the nonprofit’s Stay Together Program, designed to support pet owners facing unexpected crises. With demand rising, officials say they’re out of dry dog and cat food, leaving local families without vital help during difficult times.
The Humane Society’s motto — “Bringing Pets and People Together, Keeping Pets and People Together” — reflects its commitment to preventing pet surrenders and preserving the bond between people and their animals. The Pet Food Pantry plays a central role in that mission by offering free pet food to families facing financial hardship.
Without enough food on hand, the nonprofit says some families are being forced into impossible choices — between feeding themselves or feeding their pets.
The Humane Society is asking for donations of dry dog and cat food, preferably in bags weighing 15 pounds or less. Workers say smaller bags are easier to distribute and more accessible for families with limited transportation options.
“Every bag makes a difference,” the organization said in a public appeal.
Donations can be dropped off at:

Supporters can also purchase items through the organization’s Amazon Wishlist, which ships directly to the Humane Society.
Keeping pets in their homes helps reduce overcrowding in shelters and preserves critical emotional support for families already under stress.
“Your support means more than you know — it means another pet stays in their home, and another family stays whole,” the organization said.
