Tulsa police search for driver after crash into restaurant

Tulsa Police are looking for a driver who fled after crashing into a sign and the side of Cajun Ed’s Restaurant near 71st and Lewis, causing minor damage to the building and a neighboring animal clinic.

Tulsa Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after crashing into a sign and a restaurant building overnight near 71st Street and Lewis Avenue.

Surveillance video from Hammond Animal Hospital shows the vehicle spinning out of control before crashing into the side of Cajun Ed’s Restaurant. The video also shows the driver exiting the vehicle, briefly returning to it, then running away a second time.

Police said they responded to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, after receiving a call about triggered business alarms.

Officers found a damaged vehicle next to the restaurant. The animal clinic next door reported its sign was destroyed in the crash.

Cajun Ed’s sustained minor interior damage, and a visible crack formed along the building’s exterior wall. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the crash.
