Three in-state golf teams are going dancing. Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Oral Roberts are all slated to participate in the regional rounds of the NCAA men’s golf championships.

The Cowboys, who just won the Big 12 tournament title at Southern Hills, are the No. 1 seed at the Urbana Regional in Illinois. OSU is a number one seed for a nation-leading eighth time since 2014.

During an interview on the Golf Channel on Wednesday, Cowboys head coach Alan Bratton said, “The real strength of our team is the depth one through five. Any one of those guys could be the low for the day or for the tournament.”

Bratton added, “That is what you want. We are playing well at the right time of the year, but everything starts over now. We have to be ready to go.”

Preston Stout, who won the Big 12 individual title, said, “Any win at this level brings you a lot of confidence. It’s great timing going into regionals and national championships. I’m really looking forward to the postseason with these guys.”

Oklahoma meanwhile, is making its 14th straight NCAA postseason appearance. The Sooners have been named the No. 2 seed at the Amherst regional in Virginia. Fellow SEC program LSU is the No. 1 seed. Like the Cowboys, the Sooners enter the postseason with four tournament victories. This marks the seventh straight year that Oklahoma has earned a top-three regional seed.

As for the recent Summit League champions, Oral Roberts is headed to the Bremerton regional in Washington as the No. 13 seed. The Golden Eagles punched their ticket to the postseason after winning their first Summit League title since 2010.

Head coach Lance Watson recently said, “This hasn’t been the easiest of years for us, but we just asked our guys to keep working hard. We still had conference, and then bang, it happened at the very end.”

Each of the six regional sites consist of either 13 or 14 teams. After 54 holes, the top five teams will advance to the finals in Carlsbad, California and will play at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.
