The Tulsa Fire Department has added two new engines to its fleet, now in service at Stations 23 and 4.

Why the Upgrades Were Needed

Firefighters began transferring gear from the old engines early Monday morning, ensuring a smooth transition without disrupting service.

TFD says the aging equipment had been in need of replacement to reduce the risk of mechanical failures during calls.

Improved Readiness and Safety

The department says the new engines will allow for faster, more reliable response times.

“The upgrades to our fleet has been really needed and will allow our firefighters to respond quickly, efficiently, without worry of mechanical failures,” Tulsa Firefighter Andy Little said.

What’s Next for the Fleet?

TFD continues evaluating its vehicle fleet, with plans for future replacements based on maintenance needs and call volume.
