The Tulsa Oilers are staying put. Both the city’s professional hockey and indoor football teams have signed a new five-year lease extension, ensuring they’ll call the BOK Center home through the 2029–2030 season.

The announcement marks a major milestone for the Oilers organization and reflects Tulsa’s growing status as a hub for sports and live entertainment.

“This city is our home, and our fans are the heartbeat of everything we do,” said Andy Scurto, owner of the Tulsa Oilers. “We’re excited to lock in our future here and continue bringing high-energy, family-friendly entertainment to our incredible community.”

The extension underscores a shared vision between the Oilers, Oak View Group, and the City of Tulsa to invest in long-term growth, fan engagement, and economic impact.

Flexibility for more concerts and big events

The updated lease gives the BOK Center scheduling flexibility to host major concerts and events, while still guaranteeing a robust home game calendar for both Oilers teams.

“The Oilers have been outstanding partners in helping us strike the right balance between hockey and live events,” said Keller Taylor, vice president of BOK Center. “They remain a cornerstone of our programming and help fuel downtown Tulsa’s vibrant energy.”

Deep roots, expanding legacy

The Tulsa Oilers hockey team has been part of the city’s fabric since 1928, playing in venues from the Tulsa Coliseum to Expo Square and the old convention center arena. The launch of the Tulsa Oilers Football Club in 2023 brought a new level of excitement, uniting fans under a single sports brand.

The organization’s presence has bolstered downtown businesses and provided year-round entertainment for residents across the region.

What’s next: Playoffs and a home opener

The timing of the extension couldn’t be better for fans. The Tulsa Oilers Football Club kicks off its home opener on Friday, April 19 at the BOK Center. Meanwhile, the Oilers hockey team is heading into the playoffs, with home games against the Kansas City Mavericks set for Tuesday, April 22, Thursday, April 24, and—if necessary—Friday, April 25.

City leaders, including Mayor Monroe Nichols, say the deal signals Tulsa’s continued rise as a destination for top-tier sports and events.

“The Oilers are a vital part of our city’s culture and economy,” Nichols said. “This lease extension speaks volumes about our partnership and Tulsa’s status as a premier destination for live sports.”
