Thunder Thursday: Thunder Up at the Park

On this week's Thunder Thursday, the crew speaks with Official Thunder Emcee Malcolm Tubbs to get the scoop on the yearly Thunder Up in the Park at Scissortail Park this Sunday before the playoff game starts.

"Of course you can expect all the same fun, but of course, when that playoff energy is around, it just builds," Tubbs said. "Thunder entertainers, Rumble the Bison is going to be there, live DJs, performers, music. There's going to be a chance to get tickets to the game if you don't have them already."

So fans can expect a slew of activities starting around 2 hours before tip-off. Since the game starts at 12 p.m. the gathering outside the Paycom Center will start at 10 a.m.

There will be a chance at the park for one lucky fan to take two tickets to the game, so they don't have to go alone of course. Doors to the game open at 10 a.m. which is when the Thunder Up in the Park begins as well, to give fans another experience before the big game gets underway.

Tubbs also explains that there will be a scavenger hunt in 13 districts around Oklahoma City as part of the event for fans to find little Thunder merch packs if they're perceptive or lucky.

"13 districts around Oklahoma City were given two capsules each," Tubbs said. "So there's 26 scattered around Oklahoma City starting tomorrow. It's up to the district to hide those, but it's up to the fans to find them.
