Q&A: What to expect from 'Back to the Future: the Musical' in Tulsa

The time-traveling DeLorean has rolled into Tulsa with the Broadway musical version of "Back to the Future" now showing at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

Q: What’s happening at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center this week?

The Broadway adaptation of "Back to the Future" is playing from April 15 through April 20. The musical reimagines the iconic 1985 film for the stage, complete with music, effects and plenty of nostalgia.

Q: Why is this show special for Tulsa audiences?

“It’s so exciting to see a show you know and love with an audience of 2,200 people,” said Cole. “It’s unlike what you get at home on Netflix or in a 200-seat theater.”

Q: Which Back to the Future is the Broadway show based on?

Bob Gale, who co-wrote the original movie, wrote the screenplay, turning the first movie that started the "Back to the Future" Franchise into a Broadway musical.

That means fans can expect an adaptation with new theatrical elements that bring the original story of "Back to the Future" to life.

Q: Are tickets still available?

Yes — tickets can be purchased at Celebrity Attractions. There will be two shows on Saturday and Sunday. The final performance is Sunday, April 20.
