Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, The Great Divide, and Cross Canadian Ragweed were officially inducted into the Hall of Fame during the Boys From Oklahoma concert, a multi-night event that paid tribute to the grassroots spirit and enduring impact of Red Dirt music.

“These four inductees were all in the same place, on the same stage, at the same time for four nights,” said Tony Corbell, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. “We could not be more proud to induct these fantastic talents into our Hall of Fame. I guess you could say Red Dirt music is not just alive and well—it is thriving in Oklahoma.”

The awards were presented by Corbell, Board Vice President Megan Herriman, and Hugh Foley, a founding board member of the Hall of Fame.
Adding to the night’s generational significance, The Red Dirt Rangers—John Cooper, Brad Piccolo, and Ben Han—joined the ceremony as special guests. The trio, themselves Hall of Fame inductees in 2017, helped cement the moment as one that bridged the original Red Dirt sound with the artists who carried it to national stages.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, established in 1999 by the state legislature, has inducted more than 144 artists and continues to celebrate the rich and diverse musical traditions of the state. Red Dirt music, with its blend of country, rock, and folk roots, has long been one of Oklahoma’s most defining cultural exports.
Saturday’s event served not just as an induction, but as a reaffirmation of the music’s staying power and evolving influence.
