The Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) has introduced two new online systems for crime reporting and submitting compliments or complaints about police employees. These systems aim to enhance public access to report crime and enable the public to provide feedback on police interactions.

Currently available in English, future updates will include Spanish and Vietnamese language options.

The initiative supports OKC's Public Safety Partnership, aligning with a 2022 City Council report recommendation to improve law enforcement transparency and engagement.

Online Police Report

The Online Police Report system enables residents to file reports for non-emergency crimes such as theft, vandalism, and fraud. The system requires a valid email and allows users to submit video, photo, or audio evidence.

Users may complete the form online or by submitting the form in-person or by mail using the PDF provided on OKCPD's website.

Upon submission, users will receive a tracking number and an incident report number, if approved. Follow-ups may be made through the OKCPD Records Unit.

Reports may be rejected for a few reasons, including if the crime was committed outside city limits, if the report was filed anonymously, or if it does not meet any of the online reporting criteria outlined on the website.

Compliment or Complaint Form

Through the new Compliment or Complaint Form, residents may submit feedback on OKCPD employees online anonymously, or with identification. Multimedia evidence can also be uploaded.

The form may be found here and may be completed online or using the PDFs provided in the link.

“Feedback on interactions with OKCPD employees is crucial in our efforts to continuously improve our communication and service to our community,” Chief Bacy said in a press release announcing the systems. “We want to hear when our employees are doing great work serving the community, and we also want to know when an interaction with an employee did not meet the expectations, so that it can be reviewed through the proper channel.”
