Mistrial declared for man accused in OKC drive-by shooting that killed 9-year-old

The trial for a man accused in the fatal shooting death of a 9-year-old in Oklahoma City ends in a mistrial, according to court records.

An Oklahoma County jury declares a mistrial for a defendant accused of being involved in a drive-by shooting that killed a 9-year-old in Oklahoma City.

In October of 2022, 9-year-old Demarcus Fuller Jr. was killed after court records say four men opened fire on his home in southeast Oklahoma City

The four men were charged with first-degree murder in the boy's death. and the trial for one the suspects, Michael Williams, began on Tuesday.

However, Williams' trial ended on the second day after the jury declared a mistrial.

It is not yet known why the judge granted the mistria, which was requested by the defense.

Williams' new trial is now set for April 21.
