Court documents revealed the death of a metro father at a concert last weekend stemmed from a spilled drink. Oklahoma City police arrested three suspects accused of beating the man to death. They each face second-degree murder charges. The three men are being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center on $10,000,000 bonds.

A night out ended in tragedy for 47-year-old Tommy Benson and his family. Benson and his wife were attending an R & B concert at the Enclave Event Center in southwest Oklahoma City.

“There was a concert going on at the time of the fight and after the fight concluded the event center cleared out leaving us with limited witnesses,” said Lt. Dustin Motely, Oklahoma City Police Department.

Investigators noted in arrest warrants for Jarmey Jones, Mario Glover and Kaleb Harris that security cameras at the event center captured the assault. Police learned Benson accidently knocked over a drink of one of the suspect's girlfriends. Court documents said camera footage showed three men circle Benson, while he attempted to back away with his hands up.

Police said Glover was the first to punch Benson. The victim hit back to defend himself and tried to flee. That was when police said Jones hit Benson over the head with a chair. The strike caused Benson to fall to the ground unconscious. Police say a third suspect later identified as Harris was seen on video repeatedly punching the victim in the face. A witness pushed the accused attacker away to render aid to Benson.

“When they arrived, they found an unconscious victim,” said Motley. “That victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.”

Benson's wife has hired an attorney. The attorney said Benson left behind six children and said Benson and his wife were celebrating his work promotion the night of his death.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Benson's family pay for funeral expenses.

Their attorney is asking witnesses to come forward if they have video of the assault to help in their civil case.
