Residents in parts of Stillwater remain under mandatory evacuation orders as firefighters work to contain a fast-moving wildfire.

“You know, if they knock, you’ve got to go,” said resident Rose Vad Orden. “They didn’t only knock, they pounded on my door, which was really great because I didn’t want to go. I didn’t get shoes on, and, you know, that’s okay.”

The affected area includes both residential neighborhoods and commercial businesses. Multiple structures have been impacted by the fire, but officials have not yet provided an exact count of how many homes have been damaged.

Firefighters from surrounding areas, along with out-of-town strike teams, are assisting with containment efforts. Flames and heavy smoke remain visible across parts of the city, and emergency crews continue to monitor fire conditions closely.

Authorities have not lifted evacuation orders, and residents are urged to avoid the area until further notice.
