Oklahoma State defeated a No. 1-ranked team for the first time in three years Saturday night at the Astros Foundation College Classic as the 16th-ranked Cowboys beat top-ranked Texas A&M, 4-0, at Daikin Park

With the win, the Pokes improved to 5-4, while the Aggies are also 5-4. The last time OSU bested a No. 1-ranked team was Feb. 20, 2022 against Vanderbilt; the Cowboys are 5-4 under Josh Holliday against teams ranked No. 1.

A trio of Cowboy hurlers combined for the shutout of TAMU, and that group of Harrison BodendorfDrew Blake and Sean Youngerman allowed just four hits while striking out 13.

Bodendorf picked up the win to move to 3-0 as the southpaw allowed only one hit and struck out seven in five innings of work.

Blake was just as dominant as he tallied five strikeouts in three innings and also gave up just one hit, and Youngerman kept the Aggies off the scoreboard in the ninth to seal the win.

Offensively, Garrett Shull and Drew Culbertson led the Cowboys with 2-for-4 nights at the plate, and Jayson Jones picked up an RBI.

OSU jumped out to a lead in the second inning when Shull smashed his first-career home run, a 430-foot blast that caromed high off the foul pole in left field.

The Cowboys added a pair of runs in the third. Jones brought home the first with an RBI triple into the right-center field gap before a fielding error made the score 3-0.

OSU added another unearned run in the fifth, and that was all the Cowboys needed thanks to the dominant pitching performance.

The Cowboys conclude tourney play Sunday at 2:05 p.m. against 15th-ranked Mississippi State.
