A routine traffic stop in Canadian County quickly escalated into a high-speed chase, with deputies pursuing a suspect reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour on Interstate 40.

The chase unfolded Sunday afternoon near Calumet Road in El Reno. Dash cam footage from a Canadian County Sheriff's deputy captured the suspect weaving between vehicles and racing past semis at 115 miles per hour.

Deputies executed a tactical vehicle intervention, forcing the car to spin out and come to a stop off the interstate. The driver, identified as Quazon Gibson, and passenger Angel Rosales were taken into custody.

Inside the vehicle, deputies discovered 25 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, totaling 25 pounds. Authorities believe the suspects were involved in a cross-country drug operation, with plans to distribute the marijuana for tens of thousands of dollars.

Gibson and Rosales, who are from California and South Carolina, now face drug trafficking charges in Oklahoma.
