Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum gave the annual “State of the City” address to the Tusa Regional Chamber Thursday, offering words of thanks instead of big announcements about future projects.
Bynum will leave office Dec. 2.
Bynum thanked his family and staff and offered up a rapid fire but partial list of accomplishments of the last eight years.
The Tulsa Chamber estimated 1,300 people attended the speech at the Cox Convention Center.
“We have physically transformed our city in so many ways, not just what the government has done, the private sector and philanthropic community, there's so much progress,” he said. “Keep pushing Tulsa ahead of partisanship, keep that spirit of expectations alive. The bickering and infighting which have plagued our city in the past, they will take a front seat if we aren't striving hard enough towards big goals.”
