The Tulsa State Fair is in full swing and Jack Frank from TulsaFilms.com shared footage of the International Petroleum Exposition, one of the original expos that highlighted the city’s historical significance.

The IPE began in 1923 to promote the petroleum industry and its technological advancements. It provided a platform for networking, showcasing innovations, and discussing challenges facing the industry.

Held every three to four years, the expo attracted thousands of attendees, including industry professionals, government officials, and academic representatives.

The IPE played a vital role in the petroleum industry and remains an important chapter in Tulsa's economic and cultural history.
