The Oklahoma Capitol is still working out the 2025 budget. There have been budget meetings all day Wednesday as a part of the Senate’s push for transparency.

There are budget subcommittees for each topic, like education, business and agriculture, that go through and vet each item in the budget before it goes to the full negotiations between the House and Senate.

There is less than a month left in this year’s session, and lawmakers are working on a tight deadline to finalize the budget.

After Monday’s meeting with the governor, House and Senate was cut short, there are still some pretty big discrepancies between the House and Senate’s numbers.

Each chamber is looking at how to spend about $13 billion state dollars in 2025.

The Senate has a handful of appropriations meetings Thursday morning, then leaders in the House and Senate are set to meet with the governor at 2 p.m. to hopefully finalize this budget.
