The guidance of Head Coach Angie Nelp has been steady for the Golden Hurricane and now the TU women have a conference title to celebrate while they're looking for more.
It's been a banner year for the Tulsa women's basketball team. The Golden Hurricane has secured a regular season conference title for the first time since the 2005-2006 campaign.
Tulsa also racked up 13 league wins, which is the most in 18 years.
As the number one seed in the upcoming American Conference tournament, now Tulsa is trying to get back into March Madness for the first time since 2013.
"This is the most exciting time of year, isn't it? And I love how we've been in a lot of big games before. I love that we have experience whenever we're going into going into games, even during the conference play where we know that we're fighting for that one seed and that every game, you know is a big game. So I feel like we have experience at handling those moments," said head coach Angie Nelp.
Thanks to earning a double bye at the AAC tournament, Tulsa will need three wins and three days in Fort Worth beginning next Monday to go dancing.
