Today's forecast:
Highs today will be in the high 70s to low 80s.
A powerful storm system will move into the Central Plains this afternoon and tonight, bringing a cold front across northeastern Oklahoma.
While a few spotty showers are possible this morning and a few thunderstorms this afternoon, the higher probability for storms will be later tonight as the cold front approaches.
Later tonight, a line of thunderstorms is likely, transitioning to damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours.
Thunderstorm activity is expected for the immediate Tulsa metro after 8:00 p.m. and ending around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday. Storms should exit southeastern Oklahoma between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
Halloween forecast:
Pleasant and dry conditions are expected both Thursday and most of Friday before another series of upper-level systems approaches the state this weekend, increasing shower and storm chances.
Strong south winds of 20 to 35 mph will continue, with temperatures reaching the lower 80s. Following tonight's storms, clear and cooler conditions are anticipated for tomorrow, with morning lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s and afternoon highs in the mid-60s.
Halloween evening will offer ideal conditions, with temperatures during peak trick-or-treating hours dipping into the 50s and winds gradually subsiding.
Friday's forecast:
Friday morning lows will be in the lower 40s, while some valley areas may experience lows in the upper 30s.
Friday afternoon is expected to be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Showers will develop late Friday evening, expanding into parts of the area Saturday, with additional storm chances continuing through the weekend into early next week.
