There was a strong expectation for severe weather Friday evening with hail and damaging winds being likely for parts of the state.
Conditions are cooler and more stable from Tulsa to the north, but warmer and more unstable air fueled some storms as the afternoon went on. Highs ranged from the upper 60s and lower 70s north to the upper 70s near the south. South winds ahead of the front changed to north winds post-frontal at 15 to 25 mph later this afternoon.
Much drier air filters in behind the front later on Friday night will clear the way for a quiet weekend weather for most of Eastern Oklahoma.
