Former Bishop Kelley standout and current Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named the winner of the AL Cy Young award, the league announced Wednesday.
The honor is awarded annually to the best pitchers in MLB, one from the American League and one from the National League.
The award was first introduced in 1956 by baseball commissioner Ford Frick in honor of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, who passed away in 1955.
