OKLAHOMA CITY -- Each week John Holcomb breaks down the Oklahoma State Cowboys' performance in his weekly report card segment. OSU pulled off a come-from-behind victory to top the Texas A&M Aggies 30-29 in College Station.
The Cowboys had a sluggish start, but finished with 484 total yards and scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to overtake the Aggies. Brandon Weeden passed for a school-record 438 yards and two touchdowns, while Joseph Randle rushed for 83 yards and Justin Blackmon turned in 121 yards and a score.
Defensively, Oklahoma Stat struggled in the first half, but put the clamps on in the second and limited Texas A&M to just one second-half score – a four-yard touchdown pass with two minutes left on the clock. Overall, OSU allowed 471 total yards, but sacked TAMU quarterback Ryan Tannehill three times for a total of 28 yards lost.
Quinn Sharp was a perfect 3-of-3 for field goals, but a holding call wiped out a 95-yard Justin Gilbert kickoff touchdown that would have put a dent in the Aggies' first-half lead.
