Oklahoma City returns home from a successful Minnesota road trip and will host the Mavericks tonight.
It’ll be the seventh back-to-back for the Thunder this season and Billy Donovan’s team hasn’t fared well, going 2-4 previously.
Dallas comes off a 110-107 overtime loss to the Cavaliers at home, but head coach Rick Carlisle has opted to rest the core of his team, per ESPN Dallas. Four Dallas starters will not play on Wednesday night, including Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons, Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews.
Unlike the Thunder, Dallas has been successful in back-to-backs going 6-3 to this point, but we shall see how they respond with a depleted active roster.
Still, there’s Oklahoma City’s 17-5 home record that must be taken into account. Kevin Durant hasn’t missed a beat since spraining his toe and starting center Steven Adams hasn’t missed a shot in two-straight games, so they’ve got that going for them, which is nice.
The Thunder are 1-0 against the Mavs this season, winning 117-114 at home on Nov. 22nd. After Wednesday night’s game they’ll visit Dallas twice to complete the season series.
With 15 games remaining before the All-Star break, OKC (27-12) is in third and Dallas (22-17) fifth. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
