Langston University police released body camera footage from July of a shootout between officers and a Stillwater murder suspect. The man has been charged with two murders and a shooting that left a woman critically injured.

Stillwater police said Theodore McCloud, 36, killed his girlfriend and then turned the gun on a couple living in the same apartment. The surviving victim was able to positively identify the shooter, who was later arrested in Langston.

As Stillwater police investigated a grisly murder scene, McCloud fled to his home in Langston in the early morning hours of July 28. Two Langston University officers parked outside the home with guns drawn.

Langston police said McCloud fired at the officers first, and the officers returned gunfire. The shots could be heard in the officer's body camera. The shooting led to a foot pursuit. McCloud was captured and arrested after police said he ran out of ammunition.

Hours before the shootout, Stillwater police were called to a "shots fired" call at McCloud's girlfriend's apartment. According to an affidavit, officers found the body of Vanessa Henry at the bottom of the steps at the back door. Police said Andrew Rice was found dead on the sofa in the living room. Rice's girlfriend, Carman Murphy, ran to a neighbor for help. Police said Murphy was shot once in the arm and chest.

Meanwhile, in Langston, police and Logan County deputies searched McCloud's father's home for the gun allegedly used in the deadly shooting and the shooting with officers. Police found the weapon inside the dryer at McCloud's father's home.

McCloud's initial appearance in Payne County for the shooting and murder charges is next week. He is currently in custody in Logan County on a $10M bond. McCloud's next court appearance for the shooting with police is scheduled for October.
