Jack Daugard, an accounting major from suburban Houston, converted a 30-yard attempt as part of analyst Pat McAfee’s weekly kicking contest. McAfee, a former NFL punter turned broadcaster, has made the challenge a regular part of the show since 2023.

Daugard, who wore football cleats for his try, said he listened to Frank Ocean songs beforehand to get focused. He lined up as co-host Kirk Herbstreit held the ball, joking that fans standing to the left might want to take cover. Instead, Daugard’s left-footed kick sailed straight through the uprights, clearing the crossbar with room to spare.

The big prize marked the second straight week a contestant has made the kick. Sooners Wire reports that only one person hit the attempt in the inaugural season, while four won a combined $650,000 last year.

The College GameDay set was live from the University of Oklahoma’s South Oval ahead of the Sooners’ top-25 matchup with Michigan. The Sooners came away with a 24-13 win over Michigan to cap off the historic day.
