Edmond woman turns 104 years old on Labor Day

Glendell Norman was born in Wellington, Texas in 1921 before graduating from Wellington High School in 1938.

“I grew up on a farm,” said Glendell Norman. “I’m a very happy person.”

She moved to Enid in 1959 with her husband, then settled in Hooker in 1968. They both retired in Edmond in 1986.

Her favorite things to do are playing cards with friends, reading books, and watching OU football.

On her 104th birthday, Glendell celebrates alongside 6 generations of her family in Edmond.

“I never smoked, I never drank, and I always went to church,” advises Glendell Norman.
