A four-legged robot nicknamed the White Rhino is making history, breaking the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100-meter dash by a bipedal or quadruped robot.
Engineers in China designed the White Rhino to combine speed with strength, allowing it to carry heavy loads without sacrificing performance. The machine completed the sprint in 16.33 seconds, more than three seconds faster than the previous record.
Researchers say advanced algorithms and a durable build gave the White Rhino the edge it needed to claim the title. The project’s success marks another milestone in the rapidly advancing field of robotics.
The team behind the robot says it hopes the technology could one day be applied to both industrial and emergency-response settings, where speed and stability are critical.
