With Oklahoma State set to face Oregon in Week 2, the Cowboys know they’ll need new offensive playmakers to emerge especially at wide receiver. OSU’s top three leading receivers from last season are gone, opening the door for fresh faces to take on bigger roles.

One player making a strong impression is Central Oklahoma transfer Terrill Davis, who head coach Mike Gundy says has exceeded expectations in fall camp. Returning receiver Da’Wain Lofton is also confident in the group’s potential.

“I feel like I’ve gotten faster for sure. I’ve gotten stronger for sure in that weight room with Coach Glass,” Lofton said. “I learned both the outside and inside receiver positions, so I’m trying to make myself more versatile. We’ve got a lot of playmakers — young guys, older guys — all stepping up this fall camp.”

Lofton added that he’s already seen “crazy plays” from multiple receivers during practice, a promising sign for OSU’s offense as they prepare for a tough test in Eugene.
