Tulsa Fire Department crews are responding to a reported hazardous materials leak at Zarrow International School.
The school, located at 3600 S. Hudson Ave., was evacuated as a precaution. Officials said Hazmat teams were called to the scene to assess and contain the leak.
Andy Little with Tulsa Fire told News On 6 at the scene that approximately 60 students and faculty were evacuated once authorities responded around 11:30 a.m.
He said they believe the gas leak came from the cooking area, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Two school buses were called to pick up the students, but Tulsa Fire said firefighters were able to shut the gas off and ventilate the building in time.
Little said two faculty members and a student were evaluated and deemed to be OK.
The nature and cause of the leak have not been confirmed.
This is a developing story. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
