Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy got his first look at his digital self in the newly released EA Sports College Football 26 video game, and let’s just say it doesn’t quite capture his signature style.
Gundy, couldn’t help but laugh at the game’s interpretation of his look.
"Yeah, that for sure says I have a full head of hair," Gundy joked during Big 12 Media Days in Frisco, Texas. "They got me all like muscled up. I'm not that lucky, huh? Yeah, that’s awesome. Wait till my high school buddies see that. They'll be lighting me up."
Though he trimmed it back a couple of years ago, Gundy brought some of the mullet back, giving fans the real thing the game missed.
“I have not played the game,” Gundy added, “but I think it’s pretty cool that somebody put me in a video game. Somebody showed me the picture recently, and they gave me a great hairdo. Like, I have really good hair—but I mean that’s like permanent hair for like forever. But I’m good with it. I wish my royalties off it were as much as the players’, but should be fun.”
Now entering his 21st season at the helm in Stillwater, Gundy is hoping for a different kind of reset after a winless Big 12 season in 2024, the program’s first in 30 years. A revamped coaching staff and more than 60 new faces on the 2025 roster, Gundy hopes for a return to the Big 12 elites.
