A Tulsa man is searching for the owner of a necklace he found at a salvage yard, after discovering it holds someone’s cremated remains.
Thomas Flavin says he was at the Pick Your Part salvage yard near Peoria and the Gilcrease Expressway in Tulsa about a week and a half ago, looking for parts for his Jeep.
While checking a white Jeep, something shiny in the rearview mirror caught his eye: a silver necklace with a small diamond on the front.
Flavin says he thought it was a locket and planned to give it to his daughter, but when he got home and opened it, he saw the screw-top design and realized it was an urn.
The necklace had been hanging next to a pair of baby-sized Dallas Cowboys house shoes, which Flavin left behind but says he plans to retrieve.
Now, he’s keeping the necklace in his truck console and has posted about it on Facebook, hoping the rightful owner will come forward.
He says he won’t give it away to just anyone—he’s asking anyone who believes the necklace belongs to them to verify the make, model, and location of the vehicle it came from.
“It belongs to somebody,” Flavin said. “Somebody out there is missing it, and it needs to be returned to that person.”
If you believe you know who this necklace belonged to, you can contact Thomas Flavin directly via his Facebook post.
