Tulsa residents now have expanded access to safe medical sharps disposal with the installation of a second 24/7 public kiosk, part of an ongoing effort to reduce needle litter and promote public health.

The latest kiosk was placed at BeHeard Movement’s headquarters, located behind the church at 7216 E. Admiral Place in east Tulsa. The unit is accessible at all hours and is intended for the safe disposal of needles, syringes, and other medical sharps.

This marks the second sharps disposal kiosk installed in the city. The first was set up at Trinity Episcopal Church near 6th and Cincinnati in downtown Tulsa. A third downtown location is currently in development near the Tulsa Day Center.

Organizers say the kiosks are crucial for protecting sanitation workers and community members from accidental needle sticks while offering a safe option for individuals who use injectable medications.

Residents who want to recommend a new site for a kiosk or get involved with the project can message the organizers through Facebook or call 918-641-4236. Donations to support the disposal program can be made online through PayPal.

For more information or updates on future kiosk locations, visit BeHeard Movement on Facebook.
