Three convicted sex offenders are suing Oklahoma's Public Safety Commissioner and Attorney General over the state law requiring their driver's licenses to say "Sex Offender" on them.
The law was passed in 2007 and requires sex offenders to have it printed on their licenses for as long as they're on the registry.
They say it violates the First Amendment because it requires them to communicate the government's message.
They argue that it also causes unnecessary public humiliation and shame when they have to show their license to others.
Attorney General Gentner Drummond did not have a comment on the lawsuit.
