A free fitness expo happening this weekend in Tulsa aims to create a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds and experience levels to explore health, nutrition, and wellness, no gym intimidation required.
Fitness expert Michael Wittig and Hardbody Gym owner George Lopez are behind the Tulsa Fit Expo, set for Saturday, June 28.
“The idea behind it is to build community and provide tools, resources, and support,” Wittig said. “Not just for those that are already fit, it's also for people looking to get fit, improve their health, or learn about nutrition and mindset.”
While the event won’t include hands-on equipment demonstrations, attendees can connect with fitness professionals, chiropractors, meal prep companies, and more, all focused on wellness in Tulsa.
“It’s not all muscle heads,” Wittig joked. “We're going to feature, you know, chiropractors and meal prep things. So, nutrition, health, fitness, wellness, beauty, mindset, just a little bit of everything and just let the Tulsa, the News On 6 listeners just know that there's support and there's people here to help them."
The expo will take place at Hardbody Gym, where Lopez says the goal is more than lifting weights; it’s about building a family-like atmosphere.
“When you come in, you’re not a number,” Lopez said. “Everyone knows you by name.”
The gym features a cardio area, stretching space, and a wide variety of workout equipment. While there are no sauna or spa amenities, Lopez said the focus is on creating a place where everyone feels welcome.
