An Arkansas man wins his second Bassmaster Elite trophy nearly a year after he was seriously hurt in another competition.

Wes Logan was left with a gash in his head and broken bones after he was hit by an unknown object at a tournament in New York. He said he's fortunate to even be alive.

“I could be dead. That is the reality of it,” Logan said. “The good Lord wants me here for some reason. I’m truly blessed to be here.”

This weekend in Oklahoma, he brought in a four-day total of 63 pounds at Lake Tenkiller to take first place in the Lowrance Bassmaster Elite.

His first Bassmaster win was on Mother's Day in 2021.

“I don’t deserve this,” the Springville, Ala., native said. “I got to fish how I wanted to. I got to pitch a jig like how I grew up with my dad.”

Logan earned $102,000 for winning first place.
