Utica Square shopping center in Tulsa may go up for sale soon.

Oil drilling rig company Helmerich & Payne, Inc, which owns the property, says it’s looking to transition out of the shopping center as it undergoes a companywide review of all its assets.

The company says it’s grateful for Tulsa's support and is looking for a partner or buyer to take Utica Square into the future.

History of Utica Square

The development opened in 1952 near 21st & Utica as Tulsa's first suburban shopping center.

Helmerich & Payne, Inc. bought Utica Square in 1964.

In 1967, Walter Helmerich’s wife Peggy turned the shopping center’s first restaurant “The 1800,” into “The Garden” in 1967 and ran the business.

Utica Square hosts several annual events, including a “Lights On” ceremony every holiday season.

More information about Utica Square can be found here.
