New executive director named for The Outsiders House Museum

The Outsiders House Museum has named Ashley Beck as its new Executive Director. The museum announced Beck’s appointment, praising her experience and enthusiasm as key qualities to lead the nonprofit organization into its next chapter.

“I’m honored to carry forward the journey at The Outsiders House Museum, where this book and this place continue to reflect the heart of our shared humanity,” Beck said. “This powerful coming-of-age story has a unique way of bringing Tulsa—and all of us—together. May we continue to stay gold, together.”

Beck succeeds Danny Boy O’Connor, who stepped down from the Executive Director role in April.

O’Connor, who spearheaded the restoration and opening of the museum, will now serve as Founder of The Museum, a position that allows him to continue supporting its mission in a new capacity.

The Outsiders House Museum, located in Tulsa, preserves the house used in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film The Outsiders and celebrates the legacy of S.E. Hinton’s novel.

Since opening in 2019, the museum has attracted visitors from around the world.
