Tulsa Public Schools announced the appointment of Nathaniel Goodman as the new head football coach at Booker T. Washington High School. A Hornet alum, Coach Goodman returns to his alma mater with more than a decade of experience in education, coaching, and mentoring young athletes.
Goodman most recently served as Athletic Director at Central High School and has deep roots in the Tulsa community. He previously coached at Carver Middle School, where he built strong connections with students and families and became a trusted leader on and off the field.
“We’re excited to welcome Coach Goodman back home,” said John Potocnik, Athletic Director at Booker T. Washington. “As a former Hornet, he understands the values and legacy that define our program. His passion for student development, leadership skills, and deep ties to our community make him an ideal fit.”
With over 11 years of leadership in athletics and education, Goodman is known for his ability to inspire growth both in the classroom and on the field. His communication style, focus on character development, and commitment to excellence have earned him wide respect across Tulsa schools.
Mick Wilson, Executive Director of Athletics for Tulsa Public Schools, added, “Coach Goodman isn’t just a coach—he’s a mentor and educator. This move brings valuable continuity, allowing him to keep working with many of the students he already knows from Carver.”
Coach Goodman’s return marks a full-circle moment for Booker T. Washington football and signals a bright new chapter for the Hornets program.
