1 dead after drowning incident in Lake Eufaula

Authorities announced 1 man drowned in an incident at Lake Eufala in Mcintosh County on Friday, April 25 around 8:34 p.m.

Victim Jared Porfirio Guerrero, age 20, was found at approximately 9:46 a.m. on Saturday morning according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Southeast Regional Communications Center.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, as there were 3 other passengers on a boat at the time of the drowning. Officials say there were no other injuries.

Personal flotation devices were reported to have been present on the boat, but were not in use at the time of the incident according to the report.

The condition of the victim and the cause of the incident are currently under investigation.
