After a brief absence, a beloved zoo favorite is back in action. The zoo’s free-roaming peacocks have been released once again across the grounds following a precautionary relocation for their health and safety.

The colorful birds were moved behind the scenes as a precaution after avian influenza was detected in the state. Now, with the risk deemed minimal, zoo staff say it’s safe for them to roam the park again.

Visitors paying close attention might be able to spot them near the Children's Zoo or while riding the ONEOK Safari Train very soon.
