A Tulsa business owner is heartbroken after someone broke into her shop again after being burglarized several times in three years.
The owner of Sips and Swirls dessert bar said she created her business to spread joy, but is beginning to lose hope.
Tracy Ogg said she woke up today to find the front door had been shattered, and a thief had broken in.
She says she doesn’t understand why this is happening --- again.
Candy shop thief
Surveillance video shows a thief inside Sips and Swirls Dessert Bar, taking money from the cash register and candy after throwing a rock through the window.
Tracy Ogg owns Sips and Swirls dessert bar. It used to be called Yum Eats and Sweets.
She said the thief stole several hundred dollars and destroyed her property.
Happening again
Back in 2022 and 2023, police say Kenneth Barnett broke into the shop several times in the span of a couple of months, along with nearby businesses.
He was sentenced to prison, and police said they don’t know if the cases are related.
“I don’t know if I want to do this anymore,” Ogg said.
Losing hope
Tracy said she puts her heart and soul into spreading joy with her candy shop, and it's frustrating being targeted.
“You put a lot of work into something and somebody just comes and tears it up,” she said.
She said the cleanup will take some time, but she won’t give up.
“I don't understand why it’s like, they’re attracted to the candy stores. I guess I don't know.”
"I appreciate the support they give me through the week,” she added.
Police said they’re looking at video from the business and others nearby to find out who might be responsible for this..
